The code is almost reasonable for other coders to examine — still needs more and better comments. Also, colour issues persist but many of them need a far more sophisticated solution. I think I'm going to leave this until I have some better ideas also I want to explore the 3D version. I was happy to figure out the cause of the artifacts:
